For my Web Design class, we had to evaluate another well-known website to help us decide what to have on our website. I drew MyPyramid.gov from the box of websites, and so here is my evaluation of it:
This is the MyPyramid.gov logo--

MyPyramid.gov is about staying healthy and fit. DESIGN MyPyramid.gov gets the message across with their logo and motto-- "Steps to a healthier you". The colors are consistent, as is the navigation bar. Although I find the color scheme quite boring, it is useful for conveying the message of the website, which is a mellow message of staying healthy. There isn't a lot of extra images, which is good, because it keeps the focus on staying healthly, but it also makes it more boring for someone just surfing the web. The layout is more or less the same, but there are some pages where it varies. It took about 15 seconds to load, but if I wanted to go to this website, I could wait 15 seconds. |
CONTENT The content is consistent, and it would be useful if you needed to go to MyPyramid.gov. It's easy to tell where the links go to, and they have a really cool diet generator that you can get to. MyPyramid.gov is a great place to go to if you need help with your health. |
