Toyota.com was obviously created to sell cars and make purchasing them easier. Navigation through the site is easy, consistent, and conveneint. Facts are blatent, but may be changed or warped and presented from a biased view. This is an attempt at getting the cars to seem grander than they may be, the content itself is updated repeatedly. The one writng on the site and designing it is not required to havew any sort of qualifications, but must be an accomplished salesman. The content itself is not consistent with what the site is trying to do, commercials and advertisments blur the site's quality and sidetrack potential customers. |
Toyota's web site catches the eye with a hug picture of a car, keeping your attention. The design itself has a lot of contradicting color schemes and the only constant throughout the site is the navigation bar. The advertisements unbalance the design of the site, but there are not too many as to appear, 'in your face' However, the advertisements also take away from the site because they are located near to the center of the page. The truck or car in the background takes longer than it should to load. The only consistent element throughout the site was the navigation bar at the top. The color scheme is an eye catcher, a really well done greyscale. The font changes sligtly throughout pages, though not drastically. The color scheme changes on some pages, though is usually consistent. |
